A Dedicated Environment for Live Performance

Live Performance is ChordSet Pro's dedicated workspace for rehearsals, worship services, concerts, and other live performances.

Rather than extending the song library, Live Performance provides a dedicated performance environment optimized specifically for musicians on stage. It combines official performance setlists, team collaboration, presentation modes, real-time transposition, and built-in musician tools into a single workspace designed for reliable live use.

Its primary goal is simple: allow musicians to perform confidently without interrupting or compromising the integrity of the shared song library or the team's official performance data.

Unlike the browsing and song editing workflow, Live Performance focuses on navigation, readability, and safe performance operations while keeping editing activities where they belong—in the library and song editor.

The Live Performance Hub

The Live Performance Hub is the central workspace for everything related to live performance.

Instead of showing every user the same interface, the Hub automatically adapts to each user's role. Musicians see only the tools they need for performance, while Library Managers and Team Administrators gain access to additional workflow components required for preparing and publishing performances.

Depending on the current workspace and user role, the Live Performance Hub may include:

Stage Sets

The official performance-ready setlists used during rehearsals and live services.

Draft Sets

A preparation workspace available to Library Managers for creating and editing future performances before administrator approval.

Pending Set Submissions

The administrator's review area where submitted Draft Sets can be inspected, approved, or rejected before becoming official.

Private Sets

Personal, device-only performance copies created after using Local Save.

Musician Tools

Integrated Chromatic Tuner, Metronome, and dB Meter available directly inside Live Performance.

By organizing every stage-related task inside one workspace while adapting the available sections to each user's responsibilities, Live Performance remains simple for musicians without limiting advanced team workflows.

Official, Draft, and Personal Performance Data

One of the fundamental design principles behind Live Performance is the separation of performance data into independent layers.

This architecture protects official performance material, prevents synchronization conflicts, and allows individual musicians to personalize their own performance experience without affecting anyone else.

Official Stage Sets

Stage Sets represent the official performance collection.

On Team Workspaces, they consist of administrator-approved setlists that have been published to the team cloud and imported onto each musician's device.

On Personal Workspaces, Stage Sets exist only on the local device and can be transferred between devices using .chordset backup files.

These are the setlists musicians perform from during rehearsals and live services.

Draft Sets

Draft Sets exist only for Library Managers working inside Team Workspaces.

Their purpose is to prepare upcoming services without affecting the currently approved Stage Sets that musicians depend on.

Managers may freely create, edit, reorder, and modify setlists while those changes remain isolated from the official performance collection.

Only after administrator approval do Draft Sets become official Stage Sets.

Private Sets

Private Sets store personal performance versions on the local device only.

They are created when a musician changes the key during performance and chooses Local Save.

Private Sets are intentionally excluded from cloud synchronization.

This allows every musician to maintain personal key versions while preserving one official performance source for the entire team.

Team Workflow

Team Workspaces include a structured review process that ensures musicians never receive unfinished or unapproved performance material.

Live Performance

During the review process, administrators can preview submitted setlists, include or exclude individual sets, modify titles or dates, and either approve or reject the submission.

When a submission is approved, ChordSet automatically merges the approved Stage Sets and publishes the updated collection to the team cloud as part of the same operation.

Musicians then import the published update onto their own devices before the next rehearsal or service.

Team Administrators may also create, edit, and publish Stage Sets directly without using the Draft workflow.

Non-destructive Transposition

Key changes are common during rehearsals and live worship.

Live Performance allows songs to be transposed instantly without modifying either the official Stage Sets or the shared song library.

Transpose affects only the current performance session.

If the performance is closed without saving, every official song remains exactly as it was before.

When Local Save is selected, the current transposed version is stored as a new entry inside Private Sets, while the official Stage Set and shared library remain unchanged.

This non-destructive workflow gives musicians complete freedom to adapt songs on stage without risking accidental changes to the team's official performance material.

Performance View

Selecting Start Performance opens ChordSet Pro's dedicated performance interface.

The interface is designed specifically for reading lyrics and chords during live performance with fast navigation and minimal distraction.

Stage Mode

Displays one song at a time for maximum readability.

Scroll Mode

Displays the entire performance as one continuous scrolling page.

Ideal for uninterrupted performances and long worship sessions.

Immersive Mode

Temporarily hides interface controls to maximize the available lyrics area.

SetList Navigation

Provides instant access to any song within the current performance without leaving the performance environment.

Additional performance features include Previous and Next navigation, optional chord visibility, real-time transpose controls, pinch-to-zoom text scaling on iPhone, and a landscape layout optimized for stage use.

Musician Tools

Live Performance includes several built-in utilities so musicians don't need to switch between multiple applications before going on stage.

Practice and live tempo reference with adjustable BPM.
